As part of my plan for 2023, I’ve made getting rest and attending to my mental health top priority. As a result, I’m taking a break this week from writing duties in order to spend a few days on a gloomy and rain-drenched coastline.
I tend to take small breaks on and off throughout the year, but this year I’m focusing on forcing myself to get some rest, so I can avoid burnout. I’ve just come off a series of working two weeks straight and 14-hour days for nearly the last week to meet a project deadline. My brain is now mush, and I need the smell of salt air to plump up my neurons a bit.
If you’re in the position to, why not take a break this weekend as well. There is nothing better than refreshing those creative powers by spending two hours in a movie theatre or taking a nap. Perhaps both?
